Cummins - Brown Street Offices

In Columbus, Indiana, Force Construction served as the design-build partner for Cummins' accelerated remodel and reuse program at their Brown Street office. This project involved transforming the former Sears building, once part of the Commons Mall, into a modern office space in an exceptionally tight timeframe.

Selected for our expertise in rapid project execution, Force Construction, in partnership with Nicholas and Associates, undertook the challenge of designing and building the office space in just 90 to 100 days. The renovated facility now accommodates over 400 employees and includes dozens of small, medium, and large conference rooms, break spaces, food service areas, and collaborative spaces designed to foster teamwork and innovation.

The project required quick and efficient design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP FP) systems, utilizing a blend of new and existing equipment to meet the specific needs of Cummins. This comprehensive approach ensured that the space was fully functional and ready to support the influx of employees, including a large number of interns arriving at the start of the year.

Cummins approached Force Construction just before Christmas with the urgent need to prepare the space for occupancy by March 31st. Despite the tight deadline, our team successfully delivered the project, enabling Cummins to set up IT infrastructure and furnishings in time for the new arrivals.

This project exemplifies Force Construction's ability to manage fast-paced, high-stakes projects while maintaining exceptional quality and meeting client needs. The successful completion of the Brown Street office renovation highlights our expertise in design-build projects and our long-standing partnership with Cummins.
